Vinyl Records

Family recordings, local pressings, and albums you can't replace — carefully cleaned, digitised, and delivered as both high-quality WAV masters and easy-to-play MP3s.

A vinyl record spinning on the turntable in the Sound Lounge studio, being digitised

Some records can simply be bought again — but not the one of your mother singing, the local choir's only pressing, or the album with the crackle you grew up hearing on Sunday mornings. When the record is the only copy there is, digitising it properly matters.

Every record we transfer gets a deep clean first, removing decades of dust and grime from the grooves. It's then captured in the studio and treated with professional audio software to reduce surface noise and lift the clarity of the recording — so what you keep is the music, not the years of wear.

You receive your recording in two formats: uncompressed WAV "master" files for archiving at the best possible quality, and MP3 copies that play on any phone, tablet, or car stereo. Have cassettes in the same box? We digitise those too.

Every play wears the groove

Unlike tape, vinyl doesn't fade in the cupboard — but every play with an old or worn stylus carves a little more out of the groove, and one scratch can take a treasured track with it. Digitising the record means you can listen as often as you like, share copies with the whole family, and keep the original safe on the shelf.
